'''Pearl F. Dower''' was the third Guardian-in-Chief of the [[Temple of the People]], serving from 1937-1968.

Pearl Frances Wilshire was born on August 27, 1886 in Oregon. By 1930 she had been trained as a nurse and was working at the Sanatorium in Halycon, California, headed by [[William H. Dower|Dr. William H. Dower]]. After the doctor's wife Jane died in 1933, he became married to Pearl in 1936. He passed away on [[October 5]], 1937, and Pearl adopted his daughter Flamore, who was then 18.<ref>U. S. Census records for 1920, 1930, 1940.</ref>

With the doctor's death, Pearl became Guardian-in-Chief of the Temple, and continued in that role for the rest of her life.
